Lent... A new beginning..

Just have a look at this Image.

Looking at it we can say that it is the sky, a tree and the earth.

It is right, but let us look at this with a spiritual aspect, the sky indicates ALMIGHTY; because of whom we are saved, who showers blessings on us.

The earth indicates this WORLD.  Earth receives everything from the sky and through this it nourishes the tree. It has made this tree worth while.

The tree indicates each ONE of us.

We receive blessings from God, nourishment from this world and grow into a bright human being.

This tree is further divided into three parts: root, trunk and branches.

Root indicates our connection with the earth (world) and sky (God). The connection is our prayer. Prayer is an indication of our faith in God. It shows our attachments to this world by not leaving our connection with the almighty. The strength of our root is what makes the base of our living. If we have a strong base we will hold in all the catastrophes of our life strongly.

The second part is the trunk. The trunk absorbs and takes in maximum nutrition given by the root, in the same way we should take in the maximum goodness given to us through our prayers. Praying is a big thing but to practice prayer in our day to day life is the biggest thing. That is the moment when we understand the importance of respecting each and every tiny thing in this world. That is an instance where we turn away ourselves from materialistic things.

The third part is the branches. Branches generally lean downwards. The root gives the nutrition, the trunk makes it strong and it yields leaves, flowers and fruits. It gives shade to the tired, fruits for the hungry. It represents to be humble and giving alms to the needy.
We need to pray and be strong and practice it in our life and turn into a wonder creation and be beneficial to this earth by helping the needy. Almsgiving indicates our loyalty and humbleness towards earth as well as to our God. It is a sacrifice for the good.

So my people of Christ during this lent season may we start to live an exemplary life and become one with Christ and actively participate in His sufferings and resurrection. May we live our life the way He wants and expects us to live and may we turn one with God. Praise the Lord……..!!
